Nazarene 403(b) Retirement Plan

The Nazarene 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan is a specially designed, IRS-qualified group plan for lay and ministerial employees of Nazarene churches and church agencies, evangelists, and registered Nazarene chaplains. It is designed to provide a solid financial future with tax advantages for participants.

The plan offers participants the opportunity to participate in a traditional 403(b), a Roth 403(b), or both. These plans allow qualifying participants to enjoy such advantages as:

  • A full spectrum of investment options with an opportunity to participate in some of the best individual mutual funds from the top families of funds with proven track records
  • Contributions are immediately 100 percent vested—no matter their source.
  • No annual administrative fees
  • Traditional 403(b) salary deferrals and employer contributions are made pretax, allowing savings to grow faster.
  • Roth 403(b) salary deferrals are made after tax, but may be received tax-free in retirement and passed on to a spouse or other heirs tax-free.
  • Traditional 403(b) distributions for ministers at retirement may be received as tax-free housing allowance, subject to IRS limits.
  • Annual Pension Supplements (APS) are paid by P&B to traditional 403(b) retirement accounts of ministers as a thanks for their church’s giving to the P&B Fund.
